Meet our January 2023 Scarlight, Pauline G. from Canada!
Pauline is our first Scarlight to kick off the New Year! She is a part of our Scars to Confidence Facebook Group that has been such a blessing in helping to meet amazing women who choose to volunteer to participate in our Scarlight Feature series to share their story to inspire other women.
I believe that it is very important to give a voice to our struggles because it lets women know that they are not alone in theirs, and can provide comfort, knowledge, and inspiration to help change their perspectives about their issues.
Thank you, Pauline, for being our January 2023 Scarlight Feature!
Here is her story below.
Pauline’s Story
“I never knew my paternity. I have survived abuse, rape, depression, and thoughts of suicide were very real. The career I had chosen led me to become someone I wasn’t. I was bullied and harassed and developed a deep victim mentality, but I fought through it all.
I left a 22-year dental career, empowered myself through education, became a Life Coach, Consultant, Author, and Entrepreneur. My mission is to empower others so they can see that they don’t have to stay in toxic environments. You always have a choice!
Remembering where your courage is, is part of your story. 🥰”

Questions for Pauline
- Why do you want to be featured in a Scarlight?
“Scars are not always visible. Sometimes the ones that we hold inside are the hardest to overcome. Providing the light to help others see their authentic truth is my mission.”
- How has your story/experience shaped your life’s perspective?
“My life experiences have completely changed my life, who I allow into my life and to what extent. I know my boundaries and acknowledge that there is no such thing as perfection. Learning from every challenge allows growth and grows confidence.”
- What steps did you take and/or tools you used to overcome how you felt about your scars? If you have not yet, why?
“I changed daily habits, began my fitness journey, had counselling x2, divorce x2, and my self-education is ongoing which includes journaling and meditation. Additionally, I became an author to share my story and televised part of my story as well. Further, I participated in podcasts, so my voice is heard, and people know that I am just a regular person; if I can do it, so can they! I just had to make the decision and follow up with actions for my healing to become a reality and never stop!
- What is the most important thing that you have learned about yourself through your journey?
“The generational limiting beliefs were much stronger than I thought. I am stronger, more courageous, more capable, more resourceful, and more intelligent than I would have ever believed before! My self-worth has grown exponentially!”
- What is one lesson that you can share with others that will inspire them?
“When it feels like you are backed into a corner and there is no way out, remember the little person inside which is you at your core and remember how strong, courageous and smart you are to find a way out. Believing in yourself will empower you. No one else can do it for you except for you!”
Thank You!
